Leadership Retreat Program

Client: Senior executives of a financial inclusion company.
Skills and proficiency: I utitlised my training, organising and resource skills. I was in charge of pre-training preparations (eg venue suitability and set up, training materials, clients preparation etc). I also utilised Microsoft Office tools to prepare files and writing sheets for participants.
Problem: This training was aimed at helping senior executives be better leaders. To give them a space to brainstorm and to think through their leadership styles as well as how they can better execute it.
Process: The 2 day leadership retreat includes various aspects such as the facilitation, music, venue preparations, vendor engagement, feeding, sleeping arrangements etc. I was tasked with ensuring that the logistics of the event was seamless and everything in order.
The first thing I did was to create a checklist of the event needs, this allows me ensure that nothing is left undone. I then engaged various vendors such as karaoke master, hotel manager, aerobics instructor etc to find the ones that fit our needs and budgets.
Next up was the procurement of training materials such as stationeries, markers, name tags, files, boards etc. This involved ensuring good quality products while working with a strict budget.
Additionally, I sourced for a suitable venue and ensured that it was suitable by liasing with the venue managers to provide materials, feeding and sleeping arrangements.
During the training, I was an access point for enquiries or complaints that participants had. I ensured that complaints were resolved quickly and efficiently without affecting the wheels of the event.
Result: At the end of the retreat, we had great feedback on how efficient the event was. Clients were pleased, we developed a solid relationship with them. They now contact the company on a regular basis for Counselling services.
